  • January 12, Eighth grade students complete Course Selection form on the portal with Oakmont Counselors at Overlook

Graduation Requirements

English: 4 Credits: One English Course per year

Social Studies: 3 Credits: Ancient to 1763, Global Voyager or US and the World 1763-1900

US and the World: Twentieth Century 1900-1989

One social studies elective

Mathematics: 3 Credits*

Science: 3 Credits: Biology, Two Electives

Fitness & Health: 2 Credits: .5 Health credit during Grade 9 and 3 Fitness Courses

Business: .5 Credit: Financial Literacy

Electives: 10.5 Credits

Total: 26 Credits**

*Students applying to a four year MA state university, must take a math course in their senior year.

**Students must also meet the MCAS graduation requirement by passing the English/Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science MCAS exams.

  • Course selection form available online in PlusPortal

  • Students will complete form with Oakmont counselors on January 12th

  • Students will select required courses based on recommendations made by Overlook teachers, which were sent out by email on January 11th

  • Families review student selections on Parent PlusPortal
  • Families are encouraged to reach out to Oakmont counselors to make elective changes
  • Families are encouraged to reach out to middle school teachers to discuss course level recommendations
  • Families can complete a course level recommendation override form, which was sent in January 11th email which included course level recommendations
