Utility work will begin in early May and continue through the end of the year, including external water and sewage improvements. Waterline upgrades benefit all regions east of the Intracoastal.
During this time, traffic will be diverted periodically to improve groundwater and sewerage. Work will include 17th Street (access roads on both sides of the 17th Street Ramp and under the bridge) and Harbor Inlet Drive, which will be phased north-south. Water and sewage upgrades are done simultaneously to complete upgrades as quickly as possible.

After being devastated by Hurricane Irma, the hotel's Pier Tower is undergoing restoration and restoration to give new life to this local icon. Pia top is also reopened as a lounge.
The hotel's grand entrance has been redesigned with a long entrance that wraps around the legendary banyan tree and offers breathtaking views. A new ten-story hotel building will also be added to the north of the tower, replacing the current hotel rooms present in the low verandah building surrounding the property.
