WHEN

Moses’ went up Mount Sinai to receive the 10 Commandments from God. He stayed on the mountain for 40 days, and spoke with God during this time.

THE QUESTION

One day, while on Mount Sinai, Moses musters enough courage to ask God for his “name”. He wants to be able to tell the people of Israel about God, but does not know what name to refer to God as.

ANSWER

“God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.”

UNSPEAKABLE NAME

God’s name is considered to be unspeakable, because it quite literally is. His name is breathed, not spoken. God chose to give himself a name that we say every second of our lives.

When we are scared, we breathe. We are saying God’s name, therefore he is with us.

When we are happy, we breathe. We are speaking God’s name, therefore he is with us

Even when we are doing nothing, we breathe. God is ALWAYS with us.

Everyone breathes, right? This means God is always with everyone. Sinners, atheists, even the devil himself, God is with everyone. It is NEVER too late to turn to God, because he has been next to you the whole time.

Stressed for an exam? Breathe in and out, and know that God is with you. Everything will work out as it should.

Are you in physical pain. Breathing in and out is SCIENTIFICALLY proven to ease pain. God relieves our pain as we call out his name.

Do you have any phobias? Breathing in and out can help you feel less anxious. God is by your side, and he will protect you.

Are grieving the loss of a loved one? Breath in and out, as God is with you and he will keep your loved ones safe and happy in heaven

PRAYER

A brief prayer, to remind us that God is ALWAYS with us.

Cleanse my mind and my heart, Lord Jesus. Renew a steadfast spirit within me and draw me close to you. I know your Spirit dwells within me, and even when you feel far away, I know you are with me. Remind my soul of this truth, in Jesus' name, amen.
