What is it? What can I do with it?

Explain Everything is an interactive whiteboard. It can be used on a computer with any browser at explaineverything.com or through their app Explain Everything Our students have the app Explain Basics - all the same functions but not collaborative.

  • Annotate over a Video
  • Create Khan like tutorials
  • Show animation of objects ex: Solar System
  • Lesson introductions
  • Give verbal/video feedback
  • Homework/Lesson overview

A great site with ideas!

To join the professional version (Collaborative Whiteboard)- Use code KJNQECGQDXUS (Educators Only) on Web-Based or iPad *must be signed into NPS account to access docs*

Thank you Joanna Murphy and Mike Ciccolella!

Recording Steps

  • Record by Slide
  • Record in steps- record voice first and/or then annotate- don’t try to do both at the same time.
  • Think about size- more smaller videos better than one large one.
  • Limit words on the page- use your voice!

Audio editing tools!

Collaboration!

From either the online version or the teacher app:

  • Teachers can share their file through the code and work together synchronously!
  • Students can join but not initiate
  • Can share as editable or view only- a lot like Google

Don’t forget

  • Keep it simple!
  • All Pollard students and HR students have experience with this app at various levels.
  • It does not have to be perfect.
  • It works best if you do a “try out” file first and must play around for a few (jumping into it for the first time without time to explore is harder.
