� Mercury Contamination In Sink Traps & Drain Lines

    • Contact EHS OST, and your RCT (for RMA & RWP areas),

for sink trap/drain line removal or snaking.

    • EHS OST will survey the floor before work begins.
    • A spill tray is be placed under a trap before it is removed.
    • The trap and its contents are placed into a spill tray for

EHS OST to evaluate before disposal.

    • Polyethylene sheeting (plastic) is placed on floor directly below pipes before breaking, cutting or other removal method. Wrap pipe at break point with plastic and seal ends with plastic once removed. Leave drain lines in room with ends sealed with plastic for EHS OST to survey.
    • After the traps and drain lines are removed, EHS OST will perform a final survey of floor.
