Have you ever planned a trip around the city? Where did you go? How did you get there?
Let's plan a new trip today. Where do you want to go? What mode of public transportation can we take to get there? What tools can we use to help us plan our trip?

Trip Planning Phone Apps
A tool to use when planning is a trip is your phone! Download a transport app and use it for schedule information, real-time updates, trip planning, fare options, etc. There are apps specific to cities (like SEPTA in Philadelphia), or general transport apps you can use anywhere (like Citymapper).
Trip Planning Phone Apps
You can also use Google Maps. This app is useful to get driving or walking directions to a place. It can also tell you how long it will take you to get to a place as well as the best route to take to get there.

Missed my transit vehicle.
Missed my stop on transit vehicle by one stop and I know where I am.
Missed my transit stop and the next stop is not within walking distance.
Fell asleep on transit vehicle and I don't know where I am.
"What If" Situation
Solution
Check phone app for the next upcoming vehicle.
If it’s not far to the next stop and you know where you are, get off the bus and walk back.
If the transit vehicle has gone several stops before you realize the stop was missed, tell the driver the destination and very specifically ask him or her how to get back.
Alert the driver or a transit worker that you fell asleep and are not sure where you are. If needed, ask for help on how to get to your destination.

Walk in the wrong direction and get lost.
Someone is bothering me on the transit vehicle, and I don't feel safe.
Someone is breaking a public transit rule, but it does not affect my safely or anyone else's safety.
There are no available seats.
"What If" Situation
Solution
If get off at a stop and are worried or confused, call an emergency number (not “911”) in your support network for assistance. You may also wish to seek out a community worker.
Move your seat and/or try to alert a transit worker that you are feeling unsafe.
Try to ignore the person, or move you seat.
Find a spot to stand.
