Phase One

Fiber Optic Cabling

Completed Fall 2015

Newly installed high speed fiber optic cabling will enhance broadband capabilities within each district building.

All Schools in District able to support 1:1 Devices

Phase Two

Network Cabinets and

Battery Backups

New network cabinets will provide secure locations for network equipment. Each cabinet will be properly ventilated to ensure correct environmental conditions for sensitive electronics.

Battery backups will keep our network systems and phones running during power outages or emergency situations. Battery backups will also protect against potential damaging electrical surges.

Phase Three

Network Switching

New network switches will provide a faster, more reliable network connection for all district computers.

Phase Three

Network Switching

Each cabinet will get new, proper length, network patch cables to clean up the network racks. Proper length cables allow for easier troubleshooting and maintenance of network equipment.

Phase Four

Wireless Cabling

New Cat6 ethernet cabling will provide a faster, more reliable network connection for our wireless access points to be installed.

Phase Five

Wireless Access Points

New wireless access points will be installed in each building. New access points will provide a larger coverage area while supporting more devices simultaneously. We have designed the network to support a ratio of 3 devices per student (3:1)

Phase Five

Wireless Access Points

Wireless network heat maps will be generated once wireless access points have been installed. These new maps will be compared to previous maps to determine weak coverage areas and access point adjustments will be made.
