Recommendation Discussion: Cohort Models Comparison

AM/PM Cohort

  • Tuesday-Friday, 3 hours per day plus approximately one hour of asynchronous assignments at home; Mondays still fully asynchronous
  • “Cleaning between cohorts” issue resolved by working with CSEA to reconfigure work schedules
  • Minimizes many “high density” situations like lunch and recess
  • “To school” transportation only
  • Logistics between cohorts (i.e. food service, transportation, etc.) will take time to smooth out
  • Currently approved in Reopening Plan

2-Full Days Cohort

  • T/Th or W/F full days
    • Mondays still fully asynchronous
    • Two “off days” asynchronous without teacher support (teachers with in-person students)
  • Eliminates “cleaning between cohorts” issue
  • Recess/Lunch protocols need to be established
  • Allows transportation “to and from” school
  • Requires an amendment to current Reopening Plan

  3. Reconvene on October 27 at 3:00 pm to review results of surveys and formalize recommendations to the Board
