Kansas City
Defyers
Become a climate hero.
Using vintage sports iconography, the Kansas City Defyers mimic a new ‘sports team’ in KC, a group of people, or ‘heroes’, whose mission is to defy the odds against them as a city, in terms of climate change statistics.
Direction 3: Kansas City Defyers

Logo
Humor hidden in plain sight. We are alerting people of climate change by playing with common iconography. By using icons and twisting them, we subvert the viewers expectations and create a sense of urgency to join the climate change fight. Kansas City will take these warnings to heart and become more alert of their climate habits.
Territory 2:
Direction 1: Ironic Warning Signs
Climate Change
Must Change
Standard signs for an above-standard city.
Utilizes traffic and warning sign formats to communicate the dangers of climate change in an ironic way. These designs could be implemented in a variety of forms such as stickers, apparel, or actual road signs.
