Lexi Proffitt won 3rd in Medical Spelling, Addison Bartley won 3rd in Extemporaneous Writing, Noah Holbrook won 1st in Medical Terminology, and Jade Madison Turner was awarded a scholarship from KY State HOSA.

The Quiz Bowl Academic Team, consisting of Ralph Owen, Jerica Gentry, Dwayne Compton, Cody Starling, Xavier Byrd, Shaun Fox, Haspin Turner, and Ryan Hagan competed Friday against 3 other high schools at WKU. The team faced 2 Greenwood teams and South Warren. They fell short in 2 rounds but defeated Greenwood in the final round. The team also brought home a trophy for the Quiz Bowl 2024 Spirit Award. Mrs. Deckard and Mrs. Hamilton were beyond proud of their performance and the way they all respectfully represented Monroe County High School.

Mrs. Kim Bartley, Mrs. Hamilton, and Mr. Carnahan’s classes will report to the gym today each period. Students will be with Mr. McHenry and will sit in the first section of the home bleachers.

The FBLA Club competed at the Region 2 Leadership Conference on Friday. We want to congratulate all of those participants, who represented the Monroe County FBLA Club well. Tuesday the academic team competed in the District Governor's Cup they placed 3rd overall, won the Hume Sportsmanship Award, and received 1st place in Future Problem Solving team members include Addison Bartley, Collin Mckiddy, Keely Moss and Lacey Wood. Individual Winners are as follows: Jade Madison Turner 4th place Math, Kason Wright 2nd place science, Claire Myatt and Jade Madison Turner tied for 4th, Jack Holland 5th place Social Studies, Evan York 5th place Arts and Humanities, Claire Myatt 5th place Composition.

If you think you would be interested in attending the WKU Glasgow Campus during your Junior and Senior years of high school , please attend this meeting to learn more about the WKU Glasgow Early College Program. Sophomores must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher to be considered for this program.

School Day pictures will be made tomorrow for grades 9-11. Also any senior who did not have their picture made over the summer for the yearbook will be made tomorrow morning. The following fall sports will be made immediate following school day pictures: Cross Country, Golf, Soccer and Volleyball. Please make sure that you have your uniform with you tomorrow at school.
