• 7:45 - Optional Breakfast is available in the cafeteria.
• 7:55- School doors open, kindergarten students enter through the west doors.
• 8:00- Class begins

• Students are responsible for

Community Circle

• The day begins with a circle, where students
• greet each other by name
• practice sharing and listening to partners
• explore social emotional topics
• review the daily schedule & announcements

Social Emotional Learning

• Caring School Community (20 minutes daily): A nationally recognized, research-based K-6 SEL program that builds classroom and schoolwide community. The 3 core values are that students have a sense of belonging, a sense of autonomy and a sense of competence.

• Focused on building conceptual understanding over traditional algorithms
• Students spend the majority of time talking about math, and how they make sense of the problem and solve it

• 20 minutes 2-3 x week
