Meet with your Advisor

  • Be Proactive. Don’t wait until the last minute. The earlier you go, the more options there will be.�
  • Be Realistic. You know your strengths, so put together a schedule that is manageable for you (8 am classes are not everyone's cup of tea).�
  • Choose a Major. This is an important conversation you need to have with your advisor.Think of your strengths. Keep in mind: �
    • Television can glamorize professions.
    • Make sure you like the subject, not just the professor.
    • Mom/Dad being a lawyer wouldn’t necessarily make you a good lawyer.
