What’s Happening This Week:

Reading: We will read stories and identify the author’s purpose.

Writing: We will continue to work on writing opinion papers. We will plan first using an organizer and focus on writing good topic sentences that state opinions.

Math: We begin our study of shapes. Students will learn about 2D and 3D shapes.

Phonics: We will be reviewing suffixes and prefixes this week. We will also learn about rules that require us to change the base word when adding -ed and -ing.

Other: Tuesday is our Book Fair shopping day. If you send money, please put it in a baggie or envelope that has your child’s name on it.
