METTA L-1 · TRACK 01 · AUDITABLE REASONING AT THE EDGE

02 THE TRACKS

09

The Glass Box

Agent.

Most AI today is a black box you’re asked to trust. This track builds agents that are the opposite — every decision comes with a visible reasoning trail, built on Omega’s auditable-reasoning model and MeTTa’s symbolic logic.

IT’S FUTURISTIC

This is the difference between AI that gives answers and AI that can be held accountable for them — a real requirement for any AI that touches money, healthcare, or governance.

THE CHALLENGE — CHOOSE ONE

01

An agent that makes a resource-allocation decision (funding, credit, access) and produces a step-by-step justification a non-technical person could follow and challenge.

02

A “show your work” reasoning agent that can be interrupted mid-decision and asked “why?” — and answers by tracing back through its own logic, live.

03

A dispute-resolution agent that takes two conflicting claims and reasons out loud to a resolution, showing every inference it made along the way.

DELIVERABLE

Working agent + a sample “reasoning transcript” + 3-min video demoing a live challenge to the agent’s decision.

BASIX.MARKET · MeTTA x OMEGA HACKATHON

10 of 35

METTA L-1 · TRACK 02 · SELF-EVOLVING KNOWLEDGE

02 THE TRACKS

10

The Agent That

Grows Up.

Static AI knows what it was trained on. This track builds a small agent that starts with a limited rule/knowledge set and visibly evolves — updating its own MeTTa rules as it encounters new information, with Omega-style persistence so it remembers what it learned across sessions.

WHY IT’S FUTURISTIC

This is a small, safe taste of self-modifying AI — one of the most talked-about and least-demonstrated capabilities in the field, made concrete enough to actually finish in two days.

THE CHALLENGE — CHOOSE ONE

01

An agent that starts with a wrong or incomplete belief, gets corrected, and shows the literal diff between its old rule and its new rule.

02

A community-knowledge agent that starts empty and builds up a local knowledge base from repeated interactions — e.g., a campus helper that gets smarter about a specific campus over a week of use.

03

An agent that flags its own uncertainty, asks a clarifying question, and permanently updates its rule set based on the answer.

DELIVERABLE

Working agent + before/after rule diff + 3-min video showing it learn something live.

02 THE TRACKS

13

Two Agents,

One Truth.

A pair of agents that have to reconcile disagreeing beliefs about the same fact — one says X, the other says Y — and they have to run a small negotiation/reasoning protocol to resolve it and explain how they got to an answer both can live with.

A fun multiplayer-feeling build — two small agents “arguing” it out — that taps into the neural-symbolic reasoning identity of Omega without needing the full multi-agent chat infrastructure.

ALL FOUR

01

Have a strong one-line pitch a judge or a sponsor would remember.

02

Are scoped to “one small agent, one clear behavior” — doable by a 1–2 level student in 2 days.

03

Use MeTTa’s actual identity (reasoning, self-modification, memory, symbolic logic) as the feature, not as homework.

OMEGA L-1, 2, 3 · TRACK 02 · REASONING ACROSS LANGUAGE AND ACCESS

02 THE TRACKS

14

The Agent

Without Borders.

This track combines the Global AI Access theme with Omega/MeTTa reasoning — building agents that don’t just translate, but reason in a way that holds up across languages, literacy levels, and connectivity constraints.

WHY IT’S FUTURISTIC

It reframes “AI for accessibility” from a translation problem into a reasoning problem — building trustworthy AI that actually works for the 4 billion people who aren’t in Silicon Valley’s default use case.

THE CHALLENGE — CHOOSE ONE

01

A reasoning agent that explains its own decisions in a local language (not just translated output, but reasoning steps generated to be understandable to a non-English, non-technical user).

02

A low-bandwidth/offline-first agent that makes a decision locally with a small MeTTa rule set, then reconciles with a fuller Omega-style agent when connectivity returns — and shows how its answer changed and why.

03

An accessibility-first reasoning agent that adapts its explanation style (voice, simplified text, visual) to the user, while keeping the same underlying reasoning trail.

DELIVERABLE

Working agent + a short explanation of how it adapted to language/access constraints + 3-min video.

This track expects more finished output than Tracks 1–2, since it’s meant to plug into an actual product. Build a working feature or module for the future BASIX NFT Marketplace, such as:

01

A simple ownership/fractional-share tracking prototype.

02

NEXT LEVEL DEVS · ADVANCED / REAL-WORLD

02 THE TRACKS

17

The Agent That Can

Be Trusted With Money.

Financial and business decisions need reasoning you can audit after the fact — not just an output, but a defensible trail of why. This track asks teams to build an agent that makes a real (small-scope) business decision and produces an audit trail good enough that a skeptical manager, auditor, or investor could actually follow it.

WHAT RAISES THE BAR VS. THE BEGINNER TRACKS

Must handle at least one case of incomplete/conflicting input data and explain how it handled the gap.

Must produce a justification a human reviewer could act on to override the agent’s decision.

Judged partly on “would a real business trust this,” not just “does it work.”

THE CHALLENGE — CHOOSE ONE

01

A vendor/quote comparison agent that picks between 3–4 options and produces a reasoning chain justifying the pick (cost, risk, fit) that a non-technical stakeholder could read and challenge.

02

A micro-lending/fractional-ownership approval agent (BASIX-flavored) that decides whether a small transaction should be approved, with a full justification trail and a clearly stated confidence level.

03

A pricing/discount agent that has to explain, line by line, why it approved or rejected a specific deal.

DELIVERABLE

Working agent + a one-page “audit trail” sample output + 3-min video pitched as if to an actual business owner.

BASIX.MARKET · MeTTA x OMEGA HACKATHON

17 of 35

NEXT LEVEL DEVS · GAMING

02 THE TRACKS

18

The NPC That Won't

Break Character.

Every game NPC eventually says something dumb because it has no real memory or reasoning — this track is about building an NPC/game agent with actual persistent memory and consistent internal logic, so it reacts differently to a player it’s seen before versus a stranger, and never contradicts its own established facts.

WHAT MAKES IT A STRONG TRACK

Playable-feeling output (even a simple text/chat interface is fine — think interactive fiction, not full game engine).

Memory has to visibly change behavior in-session (not just “remembered but ignored”).

Bonus: NPC can be “wrong” (acting on a rumor that isn’t true) and this should feel like a feature, not a bug.

THE CHALLENGE — CHOOSE ONE

01

Quest-giver NPC

Remembers what the player has already done, references it unprompted, and refuses to repeat a quest it already gave out.

02

Rival / companion character

Keeps a consistent opinion of the player based on past interactions, and can explain why it feels that way if asked.

03

“World knows about you” agent

An in-game character who’s heard rumors about the player’s past actions from other characters and reacts accordingly, sourcing which “NPC” told them what.

DELIVERABLE

Working demo (text interface is fine) + a short “play session” transcript showing memory affecting behavior + 3-min video demoing it live with a judge or teammate playing along.

TRACK 4 (ADVANCED) · BUILD THE AI INFRASTRUCTURE LAYER

02 THE TRACKS

19

Build the AI

Infrastructure Layer.

This is not a classroom exercise. Teams work inside their github url. They keep working on github and submit their github url by the end of the hackathon. As a live MVP environment (GitHub), using SingularityNET’s Omega agent infrastructure — a neural-symbolic agent framework on the Hyperon AGI stack built for stateful agents with auditable reasoning and long-term persistence — to design real tools for universities, businesses, and community ecosystems.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to students who have completed a prior MeTTa track, completed or have BASIX.Market coursework.

THE CHALLENGE

How can AI agents help universities, businesses, and communities scale faster? Choose one:

01

Dev/Scale Support

Onboarding, CRM support, automation, reporting, customer service, ops, or lead qualification tools for small businesses.

02

Fractional CTO Agent

AI-assisted technical planning, product roadmaps, vendor evaluation, dev briefs, or MVP planning.

03

RWA / Digital Asset Infrastructure

Managing, documenting, or activating real-world assets, cultural IP, student projects, public art, sponsorship assets, or tokenized proof-of-value.

The Omega Solo Track.

For individual builders.

Open to individual hackers building across the two build days with October 2 to polish, record and submit. Every other track lets teams choose Omega, MeTTa, or both. This one doesn't: if you're building solo, you're building on Omega — full stop. The trade-off for working alone is a tighter, sharper scope: you're not shipping a platform, you're proving one idea works.

HARD REQUIREMENTS

Built on Omega, not optional.

Some visible piece of Omega's stateful, auditable-reasoning architecture has to be the actual feature — not decoration.

AI Disclosure — mandatory.

Every submission includes a short, plain statement of which AI tools or models you used during the build and how — e.g. “Claude for code review and debugging,” “GPT-5 for boilerplate scaffolding,” “Omega’s own inference for the agent’s reasoning loop.” This isn’t a penalty — AI-assisted building on a solo build is expected. Undisclosed use, if discovered, is a disqualifying integrity issue; disclosed use is not.

THE CHALLENGE — CHOOSE ONE

01

One agent producing an auditable decision

02

One agent learning and updating a rule

03

Two agents resolving one conflicting claim

04

One NPC demonstrating persistent memory

05

One BASIX workflow completing a defined business task

DELIVERABLE — DUE 11:59 PM IST, OCTOBER 2

One functioning Omega feature

Sample reasoning transcript, memory record, or audit trail
