This table represents the total planned renewal and maintenance activities within the Pineland FMP in comparison to areas scheduled for renewal and tending during the 2024-25 AWS period.

Natural Regeneration: Actual areas identified for natural regeneration will be reported in the Annual Report.

Tree Planting: For the 2024-25 AWS 569 ha has been scheduled for the tree plant program during this AWS period. Renewal and tending activities are directly related to the proportion of areas harvested. If less than the average area is harvested less than forecasted renewal and tending are expected to occur.

Areal Seeding: For the 2024-25 AWS period, 0 ha of areal seeding is expected to be completed on the Pineland Forest.

Mechanical Site Prep: During the 2024-25 AWS period 842 ha has been scheduled for mechanical site prep, this area contains the gross area in excess of the annual average, this area will be netted down based on post-harvest surveys in the spring of 2024.

Chemical Site Prep: 0 chemical site prep has been scheduled during this AWS period.

Tending: The total area scheduled for tending during the 2024-25 AWS period is 1,642 ha, this area will be net down after spring assessment flights occur. The 2024 areal spray program is added to the AWS as a revision (FMPM requirement) and is reviewed by MNRF and MECP

This table represents the total planned renewal and maintenance activities within the Spanish FMP in comparison to areas scheduled for renewal and tending during the 2024-25 AWS period.

Natural Regeneration: In general, natural regeneration accounts for 50% of the harvest area with full utilization of the FMP. Actual areas identified for natural regeneration will be reported in the Annual Report.

Tree Planting: For the 2024-25 AWS 1,895 ha has been scheduled for the tree plant program during this AWS period which is 62 % of the expected annual average. Renewal and tending activities are directly related to the proportion of areas harvested. If less than the average area is harvested less than forecasted renewal and tending are expected to occur. Actual harvest area and renewal and tending figures will be reported in the 2024-25 annual report in November 2024.

Aerial Seeding: For the 2024-25AWS period, 93 ha of areal seeding is expected to be completed on the Spanish Forest. This figure contains the gross area intended for seeding. The area identified was burnt in 2023.

Mechanical Site Prep: During the 2024-25 AWS period 17,134 ha has been scheduled for mechanical site prep, this area contains the gross area more than the annual average, this area will be netted down based on post-harvest surveys in the spring of 2024-25.

Chemical Site Prep: During the 2024-25 AWS period 0 ha chemical site prep has been scheduled during this AWS period.

Tending: The total area scheduled for tending during the 2024-25 AWS period is 6,835 ha, this area will be net down after spring assessment flights occur. The 2024-25 areal spray program is added to the AWS as a revision (FMPM requirement) and is reviewed by MNRF and MECP (Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks).
