How can Seoul, where more than 10 million people live and work, makes busy citizens participate readily? How do we get the voice of citizens who are indifferent to politics and are not familiar with the Internet? How should we build structures to bring about changes beyond proposals, complaints, and petitions?

Democracy Seoul - Citizens’ Suggestion

Democracy Seoul - democracy.seoul.go.kr

Increased citizen participation by taking advantage as an online platform through

which citizens can easily participate anywhere, anytime, and encouraged participation of citizens by spreading the joy of voicing concerns on social issues and sharing them.

We emphasized the ‘deliberative democracy’ format in which even though the suggestions may not be perfect, people can develop them through online discussions and deliberations, and are allowed to share opinions through expressing sympathy and posting replies.

Parti Democracy Platforms - IT Infrastructures for Democracy

In the era of digital technology, how we create the foundation of our democracy?

Hangul, Korean official language, was created for enlightenment of citizens and share information for all. All the basic infrastructures; roads, bridges, transportation in our society were built by our ancestors, and we get benefits from them. Then what about digital infrastructures? Do we have enough access and know about it?
