GOAL 5: Probate, Land, and Court Records

Choice A:

“FS: Bedfordshire Probate Records”

In 1858 to the Present mention the Principal Probate Registry link for finding probate resources.
In Before 1858, briefly review the content in each of the four major steps.
In Bedfordshire Probate Courts, mention the link for the Court of the Archdeaconry of Bedford as the main resource for probate records. Also mention the bullet list for additional resources.

GOAL 6: Maps and Gazetteers

Choice A:

“Cartophilia: Old County Maps of England and Wales”

Click on the Bedfordshire 1579 to look at pictures of the County Atlases of England and Wales.
Scroll down and click on Bedfordshire 1843 to see a map of roads.

“David Ramsey Collection: Bedfordshire Maps”

Click on the David Rumsey Map Collection and then the Greenwood Christopher Map of the County of Bedfordshire to explore this map of Bedfordshire.
Click Collections at the top of the page to browse the different maps.

Click England Jurisdictions, 1851. Click on different counties of England. Click on Go To Labs and participate in different family history activities for that country.
Scroll down to Bedfordshire through the centuries. Click on Bedfordshire in 1934, or any of the other ones, and see a picture of a map of bedfordshire that year.

Click Research for research links. Click Historypin to see an interactive map that presents you with different collections of pictures.
Click Names and see the different names have been used for Bedfordshire England over the years.
