Deployments Cont.

  • Most PVC-DRT deployments will assist larger teams with staffing requirements for field assignments on various disaster types, including Hurricanes, Floods, Tornadoes, Earthquakes, and Man-made.
  • All deployments will require a personal investment in building a Go-Kit to sustain the volunteer while on assignment.
  • Field assignments may be challenging given the volunteer's age, fitness level, and overall health. Consideration should be given to your own personal abilities.

17

18 of 42

Deployments Cont.

  • Field Assignments will require additional safety gear – See the Go-Kit List.
  • The DRT has procedures in place to identify and mitigate most known and foreseen risks/hazards. The DRT can not mitigate all risks on the deployment nor insulate the volunteer from all possible injuries or exposures due to the nature of the disaster.
  • The volunteer will present a signed Assumption of Risk and a Pledge of Cooperation before deploying.
