Mercury Aster

Bio: Mercury was the third born of four children, born when her parents were 26 years old. Her elder brother and sister, then followed by her younger brother by the time she turned 2, were all the perfect children in everyone eyes. Mercury however… was always different. They knew from the day she was born that she would be cast out of the city when she turned 20. They never let her know that it was practically a guarantee that she would go. She knew how different she was, but she was always under the impression that she would have a chance. She grew up and lived her life sheltered by her parents who were secretly ashamed of their child being different and destined to leave the safety of the city. The day before her 20th birthday she was given a hearing, like most soon to be 20 year olds, that was how she received the news that she would be cast out of the city. She was given a tracking bracelet to monitor her until the day she would be removed from the city. Which just happened to be her 20th birthday.

Personality: Mercury is a very emotional girl. Even if she tries to not show how she’s feeling, and her changing eye color doesn’t give it away, her emotions are still clear to anyone who knows her. She is optimistic, always trying to keep some sliver of hope. She is afraid to stand her ground on something, even if her more shy, submissive nature leads you to think otherwise. When it's important to her, she will give it her all. She is also very much a romantic, hoping for a great love story.

Reason For Being Defective:

Violence, theft and not wanting to participate in anyway.

Violence and theft were already undesirable qualities on their own, but combined with his resistance towards what would happen, which only caused him to act undesirably that much more, there was no chance for him to conform to the rules of society.

Alastor Mercy

Bio: Growing up, as an only child, Alastor was always a trouble maker. His parents hadn't stayed together after leaving. So he made it his biggest mission to do whatever he could to make people angry or unhappy with him. When he was going through puberty, he started hanging around some not so good people. They smoke and drank a lot. Once, his "friends" even convinced him to do drugs. After that, he made some new friends. Though he always hung around other kids and he seemed popular, he never really had close friends that he could talk to. Although quite a few people wanted him as a partner, he had never been one to stay attached. Knowing that he'd be forced into this lifestyle, Alastor started getting in fights and stealing small things. He never believed in the Childbirth Act. Let things happen naturally, don't force people to do things they don't want to.

Personality: Alastor is a humongous flirt. Any living thing he'll flirt with. Even though he's all talk. If someone actually suggests anything, he'll start stuttering. Although he seems like the strong brooding type, but he's better at running. He's extremely quick on his feet and witty. He's usually the one to come up with hunting plans. Though he never does any of the hunting.

Due to his homosexuality and inability to conform to the needs of society, there was no option other than to cast him out. If he could not fulfill the requirement of the facility due to his mentality there was no place for him to influence the future generations.

Bio: Sean had always been told that being gay was bad. Of course, he knew that he wasn't a bad person. But sometimes he couldn't help but hate himself because of this fact. He never told anyone about his little problem. Not even his best friend Olivia. When they went into the facility together, he planned on telling Olivia everything. But she had other plans. Because they had such a good relationship, she specifically asked if they could be paired together. Having no other choice, Sean told her the truth. But Olivia threatened to tell the staff members, telling him that he should at least try to be with her. The night that they officially tried, Sean felt no attraction at all. He couldn't even get it up. Infuriated, Olivia told everyone. Seamus was then kicked out, labelled as a Defective.

Personality: Sean has always been nice and accepting. Even when Olivia turned him in, he understood why. It must have been embarrassing for her. Though he always felt betrayed and now has trust issues. He's extremely nervous. He blushes and acts extremely weird around men that he likes. Though he knows that there isn't a lot of homosexual people, he does wish to find a man that he can settle down with.

Personality: Ethan barely talks. And if he does, it's simple replies. Though he is a fairly good listener. Because he was raised by outsiders, he always thought of himself as an outsider. No matter what people did, he always felt that no one wanted him around. That he was a nuisance. One of the reasons he doesn't talk to others. But he does have his trusty aloe vera plant that he always keeps close. Whenever he does talk, people will always be surprised by his deep voice.

Bio: Elizabeth's parents didn't really loved each other, they were paired together during the 'Childbirth act'. So they split up after they produces 2 children, her father took her and her mother took her brother. Since she was 16, Lizzy realised that she likes girls, so she was always scared that she will be forced to be with a man when she turns 20. Few months before turning 20, she was seriously injured and her brain was damaged. Since that she sometimes started to forget some things.

Personality: Lizzy is almost always friendly, nice and helpful to others. She always likes to meet new people and make new friends. Most people are annoyed that they have to repeat some things over and over again to Lizzy, because of her memory losses. So she sometimes tries to pretend that she didn't forget anything.

Personality:

Zillah is an outgoing, bubbly and happy girl who never misses the chance to meet someone new and learn something about them. She's always helpful and kind, no matter how someone initially treats her. She's definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed, but she also isn't stupid and is empathetic and manages to relate to someone on an emotional level. She's an honest girl and appreciates the same, although she can be just the smallest bit gullible and easily believes whatever is told to her. She often is easy talk to and is a very approachable with her friendly smile. She has a happy-go-lucky attitude and is always looking on the bright side of things. She's loyal and you can always trust Zillah to keep a secret for you. She would never step on others to get ahead of the game and isn't a real leader. She's more than happy to let someone else take the lead. Regardless of gender, Zillah often finds someone to attach to as a deep friend, and someone she'd trust better than anyone.

Zephaniah Darris

Bio: Zephaniah was born in the city like most others. He had always respect the system that he was born into. With little motivation or legitimate serious complaints. This eventually put a divide between himself and the rest of his family. Based on personal beliefs. He didn't mind this, however. And wanted nothing more than to follow the rules and bring about minimal trouble.

But when he turned twenty, he was determined Defective for reasons he never fully understood, though he now believes it was nothing but 'fate.'

Though in that moment, he was especially caught off gaurd by this and upset. Almost immediately turning against everything and everyone he'd ever known.

He used his resentment and anger as a fuel and encouragement to survive. Embracing his new life. But he made a promise to himself, saying he'd never live under the rule of another person. No matter what it costs, because it felt as if he had nothing.

He began learning to control people by befriending them, finding their weaknesses, and exploiting them in any way he could. Hoping to eventually build an intricate network of connections based on lies, deception threats and intimidation.

Bio: Luna Never knew her parents, as they sent her to an orphanage for other defective children almost right after she was born. She grew up in the orphanage, being made fun of how she looked. Due to this, she doesn’t trust easily.

Personality: Luna is usually very soft spoken and gentle, trying her best to fly under the radar, despite that not being possible with her looks. She’s closed off and cold when you first meet her, because she’s scared to let people in, afraid they’ll leave her or bully her for what she looks like. Once you get to know her, however, she’ll be your best friend and do anything to make you happy so you don’t leave her.

Bio: Kennedy’s whole life has been a struggle. They were never like other kids. They learned how to walk later than other kids. Their first words were not “Mama.” or “Dada.” At a young age, Kennedy’s parents just felt like something was off. As a child, Kennedy never really found somewhere to belong. They’ve spent all their life questioning themself. Who am I? What do I find comfort in? Does this really define me? Kennedy ask themself these questions almost everyday. It’s very common for them to ask themself, what went wrong? Why is it such a struggle for them to figure out who they are, and be that person without judgement?

Kennedy’s parents noticed they were different when they started primary school. Kennedy would always try out for male parts in school plays or do things “that only boys would do” (as their parents would say.) Kennedy’s parents were always confused and felt like they didn’t know who their child was. Some days Kennedy would be roughhousing with guys on the field, and other days they would be playing dress up with the neighbors. Kennedy’s parents hoped that eventually things would figure themself out and Kennedy would become the daughter their parent always wanted them to be.

Zia Alson

Bio: Zia grew up in a rough household. Since she’s the oldest of 4 siblings, she’s always felt like she had to be the “perfect” role model. However, Zi is far from perfect. Her opposition started at a young age. Whether it was refusing to go into timeout or not wanted to clean up, if you made Zi feel like she had to do something, she wouldn’t do it. It wasn’t as much as problem when she was the only child but as her mother started having more kids by unknown men, a lot more pressure was put on Zi. As the years passed, and more babies came, Zi’s mother began expecting a lot more from her. She wondered why her daughter was so rebellious and rude. She wondered why her daughter would act out and pretend there weren’t consequences to her actions. She wondered why her daughter wasn’t someone that her kids couldn’t look up to.

The Alson household became very toxic during Zi’s life. She would always argue with her mother about her siblings and how she isn’t responsible for them. This made her siblings think it was ok to disrespect their mom. Which was another thing Zi got blamed for. Eventually, Zi’s mom got tired of all the fighting and disobedience. Zi’s mother treated her as a stranger and would count down everyday until it was time for her to leave the house.
