About Me

I started my music career blogging (Stic-of-the-Week) in 2009, and soon after had partnerships with companies - H&M, JewelMint, and Do312 which took the blog to the next level. In 2012 I did music marketing for Chicago music TV show called JBTV, and helped them develop partnerships with Popchips, Pretzel Crisps, Vita Coco and Red Bull. About a year later got a call from Universal Music Group and was soon hired there to do Artist Development for Midwest, and was one of the only market employees based out of Chicago. After about a year I got moved over to Interscope Records to deal with those artistes solely - and my role evolved into one day being a music video sets, to doing pop-up events for artistes. One common thread was always partnering up with companies - music partnerships.

Chelsea Steps to get a Partnership for a ARtist

1. Define bands popularity when targeting certain companies, this helps determine which size companies you should target.

2. Talk to the band/manager, and have a list of interests so when speaking to the company you can speak about the band and if they use the project or something similar.

3. Start small and build up partnership. You don’t always have to go big the first go around. You want to build the brands trust.

4. You shouldn’t always ask for money. For developing artists strategic partnerships could mean money later on, which means growing followers from piggybacking off their brand following.

5. Find out the marketing contacts at the companies band likes, and get them tickets! I will say 95% of the time this is going to be a large artist, and most likely the company won’t be able to afford to do a partnership with them. Make sure to get them tickets to the show at least! :)
