    • National level Campaigns on environment and health theme on World Health Day; World Environment Day & Clean Air for Blue Skies every year – (2019, 2020,2021,2022)
    • Training of State & District level officers (ToTs) & hospital nodal officers 2019-2022
    • Developed training modules & handbooks on Air Pollution & Health
    • Climate Change in teaching curricula of 6 Councils – Medical Council of India, National Board of Examination, Dental Council of India, Nursing Council of India, Central Council of Homeopathy, Central Council of Indian Medicine
    • Incorporated the Principles of ‘Climate Resilience” & “Green” in Indian Public Health Standards for health facilities
    • Coordinating with ICMR for initiating Climate & Health related specific research committee
    • Supporting Ministry of Environment for environmental health profile study in 20 cities of India
    • Organized workshop to assimilate research evidence on air pollution & health impacts
    • Air Pollution Compendium compiled with contributions from over 30 institutions

4. Strengthen health sector preparedness

    • Centres of Excellence identified for developing subject specific Health Adaptation Plans like air pollution related Illnesses, Heat , Water borne Diseases
    • Setting up Surveillance for:
      • Acute Respiratory Illness in context of air pollution: 72 Hospitals reporting from 58 cities of 18 States (Analysis done for 6 Delhi Central Tertiary Hospitals)
      • Heat Related Illnesses in 23 heat vulnerable States
    • Vulnerability Need Assessment (VNA) for Climate Change & Health initiated in 3 States – Puducherry, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana
    • Review workshops with State Programme Officers in December 2019, 2020,2021

5. Collaborative Partnerships

    • High level Inter-ministerial Level Committee chaired by Secretary (Health) and Secretary (Environment) for issues of Climate Change, Environment and Health
      • 1st and 2nd meeting held on 2020 and 2021
      • 2021- A Joint Working Group along with Ministry of Environment under JS Chairmanship held to work out on the agenda
    • Focusing on Climate & Health specific inputs through collaboration with various other National Programmes

31 States have identified District level Nodal Officers for the programme

25 states established state Environment Health Cell under State Health Department

29 states have set up Multi-Sectoral Task Force under Secretary (Health)

27 states constituted Governing Bodies under Hon’ble Health Ministers of States

18 State Action Plan on Climate Change and Human Health prepared

Since Mission Steering Group approval in Feb 2019 of State funding under NHM, State level institutional framework are developed to prioritize action -
