What did we do?

  • We used MIT’s App Inventor website to develop an app called “Color Friends”
  • The coloring app gives the user a picture and three different pen colors to color with. There is an option to wipe the screen and start over
  • We were able to export the app from the website and download it onto a tablet

Suggestions for others using App Inventor:

  • Although the website can be frustrating, it has many great capabilities and features
  • The opportunities are endless if you explore the website and all of the different app templated
  • Our biggest struggle was exporting the app and downloading it, but we figured out you have to have both devices on the same wifi network

What addititional things could we pursue in the future?

  • App Inventor allows you to change the icon on your application, if we had more time we would do this for Color Friends™
  • Now that we know how to use the website and download our apps, we would like to purue more challenging and useful apps in the future
