Success Criteria
Show them what success looks like. Share scoring rubrics and examples of proficiency before you get too far in the activity. Expectations for proficiency and grading should not be a surprise or unknown to the students. Create a folder for each unit labeled ‘Success Criteria’ to put these documents in.

Data Notebook
Create templates for students to track their learning and growth. These can be included on the learning progressions or be stand-alone documents within their folders. Many Virtual Google Examples Here.
Learning Progressions
Share learning progressions with students so they can see where they are on the learning continuum and can make a plan on how to reach their learning goals. Each student can have their own and highlight sections as they master - showing growth. Teachers can add examples of success at each level on the learning progressions as well.
Student Reflection
Students review their learning process, challenges, and successes. Reflection can happen before, during and after the learning. Reflection Questions Here
