April 2: Senior Panoramic Photo (Wear your senior shirt or black and gold)

May 2: Graduation Speech tryouts in room 45 after school

May 7: Ultimate Grad Co. will be here at lunch to take LATE cap & gown orders-

(Items purchased on this date will not arrive until graduation.)

May 8: Deadline to submit all scholarship/award forms for Senior Awards Night by 3:30pm

May 9: Grad contract due, Main Office

May 22: Senior Awards Night - 7pm - EHS Quad (invitation only to those

receiving a scholarship)

May 23: Deadline to submit Shasta College transcripts

May 30: Slideshow/Sr. BBQ/Float Out(afternoon) Senior Sunset - 8:00 pm

June 5: MANDATORY Graduation Practice at 8:00am

Graduates arrive through the Main Entrance at 6:45pm

Graduation Ceremony begins at 8:00pm

Sober Graduation PARTY begins at 10:00pm. NO check in after midnight

  • Senior Awards Night will be held in the EHS Quad (invitation only to those receiving a scholarship)

All of your graduation needs must be ordered by May 7th. Items will be distributed at the Senior BBQ on May 30th. Orders can be placed in the student store at lunch on May 7th.

Checkout Card Process

  1. Complete the Senior Exit Survey
  2. Return chromebook and library materials to Ms. Ostrom
  3. All teachers must sign to confirm you will pass all classes this semester
  4. Must pay all fees
    • Books & Chromebooks (Ms. Ostrom - Media Center)
    • Classroom & Restitution (Mrs. Forrister - Admin Office)
    • Athletics & Parking Tickets (Mrs. Waterman - Student Store)
  5. Must serve all Saturday Schools & Detention (Tanya Randolph)
  6. Must meet all graduation requirements (Counselor)
  7. Twelve (12) Graduation Tickets will be distributed to each senior upon checkout with counselor
    • Extra tickets available upon availability from counselors

MANDATORY Graduation Practice

  • Seniors who do not attend practice will not be able to participate in the graduation ceremony.
  • Seniors will choose their walking partner, or one will be assigned to them.
  • Seniors will be seated for practice in the same order in which they will walk in the graduation ceremony.
  • Honor Grads will be seated in the front rows followed by Top 10%.
  • We recommend wearing the shoes you will wear in the ceremony to practice (you don’t want to fall during the ceremony). Lightweight, cool clothing, hats, sunglasses and WATER are also recommended, as it will most likely be hot.
  • Park in your regular location. DO NOT drive around the back of the school.

Graduation is a DIGNIFIED Community Event

All graduates must follow all rules and conduct themselves as appropriate for a dignified community event.

Every family deserves the same respect to celebrate their graduate.

What To Wear or Bring To Graduation

  • Wear Cap and Gown
    • No decorations on the caps or gowns
    • One lei per student (not including honor cords or heritage sashes)
  • Wear Business Casual
    • No Pjs, slippers, flip flops, crocs…
  • Sunglasses, but…
    • Sunglasses may not be worn when the student accepts their diploma or for photos on stage.
  • Cell Phones, but…
    • Cell phones must be turned off and remain in pockets until the conclusion of the ceremony or they will be confiscated.

What NOT to do at Graduation or Rehearsal

  • Graduation is a school activity, so all students must adhere to all school rules
    • Zero tolerance for drug, tobacco, or alcohol use. Any potential grads found under the influence will NOT be allowed to walk the stage.
  • Ceremony disruption
    • No balloons, noisemakers, toys or any other inappropriate items!

How To Walk Into Graduation

  • Students will walk in with their partner as we will practice.
  • Lanes 5 and 6
  • Walk is slow and spaced out
  • Watch video

How To Sit and Stand During The Ceremony

  • Honor Grads followed by Top 10% of the senior class will be seated (with their walking partners) in the first few rows of graduates.
  • Rows will sit and stand together when directed by a designated staff member.

Tassel Switch & Handshake

  • After your name is read, shake Principal Johnson’s hand and, walk down the ramp on the front of the stage and wait for your walking partner.
  • Switch each other’s tassel from right to left.
  • Some graduates then do a handshake or strike a funny pose together.

Graduation Check In & Line Up

Thursday, June 5th at 6:45PM

  • Graduates must enter through the main entrance.
  • All graduates will be checked on arrival for appropriate attire and contraband.
  • Graduates that walk in from the north side will check in and line up in the North Gym.
  • Graduates that walk in from the south side will check in and line up in the Cafeteria.
  • Graduates will line up in the same order as practiced during graduation rehearsal.
  • Get your name card and check it for correct pronunciation.

Graduation Ceremony

Diplomas

  • Diplomas will be distributed on the track AFTER the ceremony.
  • Graduates that have pending requirements will be able to pick up their diploma with the registrar upon verification of completion.
  • Graduates not allowed to participate in the ceremony due to discipline will be able to pick up their diploma the week after graduation with the registrar.

Photos & Live Stream Video

  • Photos will be taken by EHS Yearbook and will be posted to the EHS Facebook Page for FREE download.
  • Graduation will be livestreamed and accessible through the EHS Website.

Sober Grad Party

  • Check in is from 10pm - midnight. No one will be admitted after midnight.
  • The party ends at 6 am. If you want to leave before the end of the party, your parent/or guardian with proper ID will have to come and pick you up. It is recommended to have someone drop you off and pick you up. If you leave early you will not be eligible to win any prizes.
  • There will be a storage for bags. All bags will be searched before entering and no liquids of any kind are allowed.
  • Law Enforcement will be on site and notified if you are caught with drugs or alcohol.
  • The sober grad committee reserves the right to ask you to leave for inappropriate behavior. Your parent/guardian will be called to pick you up.

  • Scholarship Survey (need this now!) Complete by May 8th for outside scholarships received to be included in Senior Awards Night!
