These are our weekly objectives:

  1. Students will identify Honduras in the map and will name some characteristics of this country.

These are our weekly objectives:

  • Conversacion: Students will conjugate verb estar to locate themselves

  • Students will identify popular hobbies in their lives-communities

Vocabulary: estoy, estás, está, estamos, están, lejos, cerca. Futbol, tenis, natacion, baile, arte, musica, futbol, baloncesto, beisbol.

  • Grammar: students will conjugate the verb estar in present

SEPTEMBER 29 - OCTOBER 2

These are our weekly objectives:

  • Conversacion: Students will use the verb “gusta” and “gustan”

  • We will identify and name clothing pieces.

  • Vocabulary: Moda, pantalón, calcetines, camiseta, zapatos, camisa, falda, blusa, gusta, gustan, botas, supermercado, mercado, vendedor, comunidad.

  • Culture: students will compare clothing use in Argentina and the U.S.
  • Traditional Game in Argentina: Chocolate

SEPTEMBER 22-26

These are our weekly objectives:

  • Conversacion: Students will use the verb “compro” and “compran”

  • We will name the different jobs and places in a community. (

  • Vocabulary: El panadero, panadería, el zapatero, zapatería, el cajero, mercado, el helado, heladería, el policía, el obrero, barrio, vecindario, comprar, vamos, ir.)

  • Culture: students will virtually visit some of the landmarks of Argentina: Patagonia, Pink House, Iguazu waterfalls.
  • Traditional Game in Argentina: Chocolate

SEPTEMBER 15-19

These are our weekly objectives:

  • Conversacion: Students will use the verb “gusta” to communicate within the objective:

  • We will name the different rooms in a house/apartment. (cocina, baño, sala, jardin, dormitorio).

  • Vocabulary: baño, duchar, cocina, cocinar, sala, leer, ver T.V., sofá, comedor, mesa, dormitorio, cama, jardin, relajar.
  • Culture: students will virtually visit some of the landmarks of Argentina: Patagonia, Pink House, Iguazu waterfalls.
  • Traditional Game in Argentina: Chocolate

SEPTEMBER 8-12

These are our weekly objectives:

  • Conversacion: Students will present themselves and others. Hola Yo soy ___. El/Ella es ______. Y ellos son mis amigos/primos.

  • Grammar: Adjectives. Students will define adjectives and will identify them in context.

Vocabulario: alto, amable, atrevido, bajo, burlón, cómico delicioso, divertido, hermoso. Feo, bonito, triste, enojado, amigable, emocionado, confundido, orgulloso, bajo, alto, guapo, corto, largo, feliz, feroz.

  • Conjugation of verbs in context. Yo soy. El/Ella es. Ellos son.

SEPTEMBER 2-5 (four day week)

These are our weekly objectives:

  • I can introduce myself. (Hola. Me llamo ____. Mucho gusto. Yo me llamo _____).

  • I will complete a “Third Grade Paragraph”. A typical third grade paragraph include an introductory topic sentence, supporting details that elaborate the main idea, and a concluding sentence that summarizes the topic.

  • Penmanship. Third grade penmanship expectations include forming letters correctly and legibly, using the lines on the paper appropriately and maintaining spaces between letters and words.

  • Writing Conventions: Focus is punctuation. Sentences start with a capital letter and end with a period.

AUGUST 25-29

These are our weekly objectives:

  • Identify names for family members. (papá, abuelo, abuela, mamá, hermano, hermana, primo, prima, tio, tia, mascota, hijo, hija).

  • Describir where family members are located. (debajo/abajo, adentro/dentro, al lado/de lado).
  • Identificar el correcto artículo (El-Ella)
  • Students will review vowels and their sounds. (We will have a quiz on Friday) It will be like this: Using the names of family members fill in the missing vowels.

AUGUST 18-22

This week we are gradually incorporating Spanish into our routines our procedures. We are talking about the importance of being bilingual and identifying some reasons why we are students in a bilingual school.

We are reviewing and expanding on greeting and introductions.

We are learning about the definition and purpose of a VERB as well as remember some of the “school verbs”: buscar, pegar, escribir, marcar, colorear, identificar, categorizar, circular, dibujar, leer, recoger, ordenar, limpiar, pensar, entender, caer, esperar, etiquetar, describir nombrar, definir.
