About the Course ….

  • This course examines the world’s natural and human-made disasters
  • How and why do these natural disasters happen (tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, droughts, etc)?
  • How and why do human-made disasters happen (oil spills, nuclear meltdowns, greenhouse gases, etc)?
  • How can humans mitigate (reduce) these impacts on our earth?
  • What solutions are there?

  • This course examines popular current events and examines them through a Geographic perspective.
  • What are the global threats we face today?
  • How can we make a more equitable and sustainable world?
  • How can Canada help stabilize these issues and be part of global solutions?
