  • All 6th grade students enter through Door #2
  • Go directly to your locker and report to Homeroom (located on schedule). After Day 1, you will report to your Period 1 class.
  • All backpacks, jackets, hats and cell phones must be left in the locker, as per district policy
  • Student’s cell phone should be turned off and left in their locker until dismissal

Gym

  • Students will have a separate Gym locker.
  • Students must change each day for Gym. Failure to do so will result in points being deducted from grade/failure.
  • Students must bring a set of Gym clothes:
    • Shorts or sweatpants
    • T-shirt or sweatshirt
    • Sneakers

Breakfast/Lunch

  • Any students will report to Cafeteria for breakfast (grab and go), got to their locker, and then head directly to period 1.
  • You can bring your own or buy lunch.
  • You must sit in your assigned homeroom
  • You will receive a lunch pin that you will need to enter when you purchase lunch
  • Your table will be called to get in line for lunch and to throw out garbage
  • Students must remain seated in the cafeteria when not up for lunch or throwing out trash .

Attendance

Doors open at 8:05 a.m.. Students are expected to be seated in Period 1 by the 8:17 a.m. bell.

Students who arrive after 8:20 a.m. will be considered late. After 5 lates to school disciplinary action will be taken.

Attendance is extremely important. Any student who accumulates more than 18 unexcused absences may have to attend our Summer Enrichment program or can be retained.

Student ID’s and Dress Code

AMS abides by the district dress code and it is strictly enforced. Please make sure you read it over and are aware of all the guidelines. Students will receive ID cards after “picture day.” IDs are expected to be worn to while on bus/in school.

Wildcat Way Character Education Programs

Wildcat Cash

Students receive wildcat cash for completing good deeds or positive behavior throughout the school building. Students may redeem their cash for various prizes such as, a free item from the school store, lunch in the courtyard, a homework pass, free gym or Media Center time, etc.

Student of the Month

Each teacher nominates one student who exhibits the positive character trait for the month. Students names are announced over the loudspeaker and they are called down to receive a certificate from Mr. Leusen and Mrs. Smith. Names for Student of the Month are also displayed on our website and posted in the Wildcat Daily.
