Harmful household products

• In our homes, there are many products that can make you sick and kill you.
• We call these products poisonous. Another word for poison is Toxic.
• Bleach and liquid washing soaps are useful, but if you swallow it, it can be extremely dangerous. These chemicals has toxic substances added to them that is meant to be used for the purpose it was made for.
• All toxic chemicals has to be stored in a locked cupboard. Also, we should never pour toxic chemicals down drains, throw it into rivers and dams. We have to look after our environment!

Medicines

• Medicines that lays around can be dangerous because babies would think it’s candy

• Medicines is good for you, but taking too much can be toxic to your health.
• Having labels on medicine bottles and packets will hep you know what kind of medicine is stored there. And it helps us now if the medicine is expired. If medicine is expired, you should throw it away.

Fire Safety

• People who use paraffined stoves or lamps needs to be careful with these appliances. If the paraffin gets knocked over and it comes into contact with a flame, a fire will start.
• Leaving electric irons on and walking away, and leaving something in electric ovens while it is left on can start fires.
• Electricity can start fires. Like having too many plugs in one socket can over load the socket and an electric explosion can happen, causing fires.
