Learning Points

Kek Jun Xiang, 20 years old

Bachelor of Arts in German LanguageUniversiti Putra Malaysia (UPM)

Throughout this volunteering experience, I had the opportunity to communicate with other members in the project in English. This opportunity allowed me to speak more confidently in English because in normal day I did not have this type of environment to communicate in English. Even though sometimes I felt hard to open my mouth to speak with others, but I still try my best to talk to others about my thought and feeling.

I feel like time flies especially during the green life project. Even though we had a lot of physical works to do but everyone enjoyed the process. All of us lived under a roof with full of respect for each other. I really enjoy it very much. So, I hope that I will always remember these valuable memories and apply all lessons learned in my daily life.

Learning Points

Xiau Tong, 20 years old

Bachelor of Environmental Science and TechnologyUniversiti Putra Malaysia (UPM)

In the volunteering experience, I have opportunity to learn about waste management by visiting to landfill site and attentive and clear explanation in Waste-to-Energy and types of landfills in presentation by staff of landfill site. Through volunteering, I gain teamwork skill as we always assist each other and always care about each other's. Special thanks to all my teammates as they always help me when I am in trouble and I also enjoy the time with time such as chatting, sharing thoughts, hobby.

I feel very happy and enjoyable. I feel satisfied as I can achieve my goal in this project ECHO 4.0. In next time, I hope that I can be a volunteer to make myself more aware of issue and also improve myself.
