To be eligible, you must have less than 27 unexcused absences during the school year leading up to January 31, 2026.

That means:

  • We look at all of your 7th grade attendance
  • Plus your 8th grade attendance up until January 31, 2026
  • Anything before 7th grade doesn’t count

  • Send a video or audio file of your project to studentinterest@sersd.org
  • Upload photos of your project, a letter of recommendation, or a student essay in the admissions portal
  • Schedule a short, non-evaluative virtual interview
    • This just means it’s a friendly conversation, not a test!

How the Lottery Works

  • The lottery will be virtual and recorded.
    • You can watch it later if you want to see how it went!
  • Verified applicants will get up to three (3) different lottery numbers
    • You’ll get your numbers by email and mail
    • You can also see it in your admissions profile up to 14 days before the lottery draw.
  • We’ll double-check how many entries each student has earned before the drawing.
  • After the lottery draw:
    • If you’re accepted, your status will say “Student Accepted”
    • If you’re waitlisted, your status will say “Waitlist”
