Harry the Scary Pumpkin Book
The elementary curriculum department is excited to share that the author of Harry the Scary Pumpkin, Joe Spartz, reached out to us and wanted to donate his book to kindergarten students in Anoka-Hennepin. He is a local first-time author. Your student will be bringing home a copy of this book to keep.
Harry the Scary Pumpkin is a heartwarming story of a little pumpkin who hopes to become a jack-o’-lantern. Harry faces challenges, but never stops believing in himself and eventually realizes his dream. This story encourages children to not lose sight of their goals and to have faith in their ability to overcome obstacles.

Family Picture
(Due anytime in September). Each kindergartener is going to get to do a little “show and tell” about his or her family. It will be useful for us to have a picture for your kindergartener to refer to as they do this. If they spend time in multiple households, please feel free to send multiple photos. The family pictures will be hung up in our classroom after the students have had a chance to share. You can send in a copy of a picture to school with your child (make sure it is one you are okay with us keeping for the school year) or you may email the picture and we will print it.

Parent Ed. Support
This week, your student will come home with a form to fill out if you are interested in connecting with our school’s parent educator. She is full of great ideas, information, and resources. We encourage all families to take advantage of this FREE resource! You can send the completed form back to school in your child’s folder. Thank you!

As students adjust to the school schedule and routines, we would love your assistance in the lunchroom to help students with inputting their pin numbers, opening milks, and learning appropriate behavior in the lunchroom. Volunteers are SO appreciated during the first few weeks of school. Signup HERE to help out in the lunchroom!
