The Holy Trinity
God the Father sent the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus the Son. While on earth, everything Jesus did was by the power of the Holy Spirit working in him. The Holy Spirit was made fully known after Jesus had returned to God in all his glory after his Resurrection.
The Father and Jesus sent the Holy Spirit into the Church at Pentecost. With the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost Christians now know of the three persons in one God revealed as the Holy Trinity. It is the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the Church that enables it to do its work of carrying on the work or mission of Jesus.
