猫鱼 Catfished

Synopsis of 猫鱼

  • The play centers on the lives of 3 women and their relationship woes intertwined in the midst of technological advancements. Facebook, Tinder, Instagram, Whatsapp are modern communication vehicles used to connect people across borders, time, spaces and physicality. The advent of technology has allowed people to find love, relationships and sex in all places we all once felt was impossible.

  • What happens when these social platforms hinder the building of a healthy relationship instead? Should we blame technology or should we blame ourselves, who are fundamentally responsible for all our own actions?

  • The play centers on the lives of 3 women and their relationship woes intertwined in the midst of technological advancements. Facebook, Tinder, Instagram, WhatsApp are modern communication vehicles used to connect people across borders, time, spaces, and physicality. With the advent of technology, people have been able to find love, comfort and sex, as well as a means for couples to forge a stronger relationship. Social media is a double-edged sword in relationship. How would individuals utilise social media to their advantage? Can we rely on technology to satisfy our inner desires? Catfishing on social media was witnessed among 3 women to achieve their goals, some benefited, some hurt as a result. All they want is to love and to be loved, but in their search of love, they face the temptations of technology and also become victims of technology.
