How can we prepare for the transition?

Before July 1...

Cleaning House

  • EVERYTHING you have in Outlook gets rolled over into Google Mail. Now is the time to organize/clean house.
    • Empty the trash (Deleted Items)
    • Delete what you don’t need
    • Delete old calendar events if not needed for future reference
  • Emails roll over, but folders turn into labels - organization will look different
  • Sue will provide instructions for efficient ways to delete old emails and calendar events.

Log in before you leave

Before you leave for the summer:

  1. Verify that you have Chrome (or Firefox) on your school computer.
  2. Log into your existing school Google account (see Sue, Tami, or Chris W to reset password if needed) - see handout
  3. If you already have a Google account, see info about keeping them separate in Chrome or see Sue/Tami/Chris for tutorial.

  • 2012-13 - MS Pilot student GAFE Accts

    • MS - full implementation in 7th grade science, geography, 8th grade history, Chinese 6-7-8, Tech 6 & 8, and many English 7/8 classes + for all MS Faculty internal documents
    • US - as desired by faculty; used by multiple teachers in English, History, and Science departments
  • 2014-15 - Expanded access anticipated for MS & US
    • LS pilot as appropriate by teaching team
