Standards Based Grading
In the Omar D. Blair Elementary Academy, we believe that a standards-based grading system allows students and their families to monitor progress toward proficiency of the content standards students engage in throughout the year. Within this system, teachers will support students to use standards-based grades and specific feedback to determine targeted next steps in order to reach proficiency. Overtime, students will develop increased ownership of their academic progress, the criteria for mastery, and the steps effective learners take to reach their goals.
