Elevator Pitch

Operation Outsmart is a physics-based sandbox game primarily for PCwhere you:

  • Build machines to overcome environmental challenges
  • Create alloys with unique physical properties from a mix of metals
  • Reinforce your builds with the crafted alloys to make them lighter, stronger etc.

The game offers highly emergent gameplay that encourages creativity and problem-solving.

Currently at alpha stage, we aim to release on PC and consoles with two single-player modes in Q3 2024.

Grumble grumble blow! The volcano is going to erupt! Get to it as fast as you can and destroy the enemy robots on the way.

Zera (the player), an inquisitive and adventurous young koala, takes it upon herself to save the island. She needs to find all the materials and parts necessary and then, using her crafting and engineering skills, build contraptions which will allow her to traverse the dangerous routes, combat the robotic minions and ultimately reach the volcano to stop it from erupting.

Material Properties and Metal Mixing powered by Deep Learning

There are 20 metal elements in the game that are dropped by enemy robots upon destruction. The collected metals can then be mixed in different composition to create new alloys with 6 unique properties predicted by our deep learning model (see appendix).

These alloys can then be used to reinforce the building blocks, making them stronger, lighter, etc. This crafting element, intertwined with the building element, creates highly emergent gameplay especially during obstacle challenges and combat.

The 6 alloy properties are:

1. Density: How light or heavy the part is2. Strength: How durable the part is against damage3. Conductivity: How well it conducts electricity4. Corrosion resistance: How long it takes for part to break in corrosive liquid5. Melting point: How long it takes the part to break upon exposure to heat6. Combustibility: How easily the part burns or explodes upon exposure to heat

Unique Selling Point

You can use heavy materials to sink and drive on lake bed, but the corrosive water may break down your build parts.

Or you can use a light material to float on water and cross the lake.

The Ask

16 of 24

While we are passionate about the core vision of the game, we are pragmatic and understand that your input on design, commercial and strategic decisions is critical for successfully bringing the game to the market:

  1. Multiplayer: Should we add multiplayer modes to the game?
  2. Console Porting: Should we port to console? Which console platforms?
  3. Release options: PC first, or simultaneous console launch? Early access?
