This reaches far beyond my room. New York City's 2023 housing survey counted about 260,000 households in crowded housing. Community Service Society describes households crowded into apartments that are too small. We wanted to help people use the space they already have.

Yardi Matrix scope is large multifamily properties with 50+ units. This is not average living space per resident or the average of all NYC homes. Published in August 2026.
