4 Steps

We have identified 4 easy steps that can help support our students in their time at Richmond High.

6 of 15

Step 1: Communication

Our school speaks! Our Principal will send out messages weekly over the phone, make sure you receive these phone calls.

PowerSchool logins are for parents AND students! Use this to keep track of your student’s progress.

Feel free to call us, email us, visit us, we want to hear from you. Parents are just as important as teachers during High School.

Step 2: Academic Awareness

We encourage parents and students to keep track of their grades and progress through PowerSchool. Your transcript is your record of your progress and Yes, FRESHMEN YEAR MATTERS.

Richmond has counselors that can help with scheduling, tutoring, and academic interventions provided by our Academies.

Every year students can earn up to 70 credits:

1 class = 10 credits

225 credits to graduate

C- or higher in your classes make you eligible for a 4 year-university

Step 3: Get Involved!

The more that students are involved on campus, the more included they feel as a part of the community.

We challenge each parent here to encourage their student to try ONE activity their Freshman year.

We offer various sports, clubs, activities, and volunteer organizations.

Step 4: Ask Questions

We encourage everyone to ask questions. Our Administrators and office staff are available to assist, and the more you include us in what is happening with your student, the better we can support them in school.

Call the office: 510-231-1450

Speak with a counselor on setting academic goals.

Contact teachers on how you can team up together.

Be conscious of missing school and absences.

Why Freshmen Year Matters

Freshmen year lays the foundation for students to get to more advanced classes.

Absences, low grades, and tardies hurt students academically, so let’s help them engage in their classes and find success in them!

Let’s have a great year and a strong start to High School.

Welcome Oilers!
