I love my language because it is part of my identity. Being fluent in my language and in English allows me to communicate and connect with my family and friends from the Philippines and the people around me in America. I enjoy learning new languages with the intention of connecting with people from around the world.

The seal of biliteracy to me represents more than just knowing another language. It is a representation of my Arab identity and culture that I love and cherish. Without the Arabic language, a part of my identity would be missing, which is why I am proud to say that my Identity is complete. Outside of myself, I truly believe languages are SO important to learn, and an incredible and rewarding accomplishment to achieve. Whether it be for personal or professional reasons, languages are valuable and connect us to different realms of the world. For this reason, I am eager continue my language learning endeavors in college.

  • Because I had attained a high level of proficiency, I wanted to document that level of proficiency and make time in my schedule for other classes. I was able to pass the exam my junior year in Spanish.
