Harvard University
Harvard University is the oldest institution of higher education in the U.S. and widely considered to be one of the most prestigious. It was founded in 1636 in Cambridge,
Massachusetts. It was named after the College's first benefactor, the young minister. John Harvard of Charlestown, who upon his death in 1638 left his library and half his estate to the institution.
Harvard University has 12 degree-granting Schools in addition to the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study.

The biggest complex in France, dedicated to Literature, Languages, Civilizations, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, is located on the original medieval foundations, and now extends to the Latin Quarter and to other areas in Paris.
The name is derived from the Collège de Sorbonne, founded in 1257 by Robert de Sorbon as one of the first significant colleges of the medieval�University of Paris.

Yale University
Yale’s roots can be traced back to the 1640s, when colonial clergymen led an effort to establish a college in New Haven to preserve the tradition of European liberal education in the New World.
Yale University comprises three major academic components: Yale College(the undergraduate program), the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences,and the professional schools.
In addition, Yale encompasses a wide array of centres and programs, libraries, museums and administrative support offices. Approximately 11,250 students attend Yale.

Chicago University is a private research university in Chicago, Illinois, USA. It was founded by an oil�magnate and philanthropist John D. Rockefeller in 1890. William Rainey Harper became the university's first president, in 1891, and the first�classes were held in 1892.
The University consists of the College of the University of Chicago,�various graduate programs and interdisciplinary committees organized into four divisions, six professional schools, and a school of continuing education.

It is not only one of the world's most prestigious academic institutions, but also the second-oldest university in the English-speaking world (after the University of Oxford), and the seventh-oldest globally.The university grew out of an association of scholars in the city of Cambridge that was formed in 1209, early records suggest, by scholars leaving Oxford after a dispute with townsfolk.

Massachusetts University
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was chartered by the state of Massachusetts in 1861 and became a land-grant college in 1863. William Barton Rogers, MIT's founder and first president, had worked for years to organize an institution of higher learning, but outbreak of the Civil War delayed the opening until 1865.
The mission of MIT is to advance knowledge and educate students in science, technology and other areas of scholarship that will best serve the nation and the world in the 21st century.
