  • cooking
  • hiking
  • music
  • market shopping

We had a very authentic experience because we were living with the locals. It made me very aware of the differences in culture and lifestyle that people in Mexico have to the U.S. They were very big on community!

How did you decide to apply for this program? What was the application process like?

  • I wanted freedom, and to enjoy my summer before college apps
  • I wanted to go somewhere where I would grow independent and responsible.
  • With SEO’s help we were able to interview and ask questions

what the application consisted of

personal statement and supplements

North Adams, MA

  • faith: i originally wanted to get out of the country and learn independence
  • wanted to expand my experiences outside of my family traditions and the United states
  • With the help from SEO i was able to conduct a interview and produce 3 essays.
  • the most difficult part was receiving my passport on time
  • Hamna: I wanted the Japan program but they canceled it 🤨 so I was chosen for Mexico. While you do get to rank what countries you want to go to, there’s no guarantee that you’ll get it. Also, once you get matched with a program you’re stuck with it.

Oaxaca, Mexico

  • I knew I wanted to go abroad and I would just continue adding study abroad programs to my interest list.
  • The application had 3 essays
  • -The hardest part was filing my passport

North Italy

  • I mostly wanted to get out out the country the first chance I got to experience what else was out there.

  • SEO helped so much with the application and interview process and with passport fees.
