Academic Assistance

M-Th: 3:00pm – 3:40pm

M-F: Potter Hour

Prep Periods: 5th

By appointment only. Students must sign up for assistance via email or during class. We are always happy to work with students when they need assistance, but students need to be proactive so that they can get help when they need it.

Make – up Work/late work:

Schoology will be updated weekly. You have full access to presentations, notes, handouts, and assignments. Please check Schoology to see what you missed. Paper copies available when requested.

All tests and quizzes must be made-up prior to the last day of the unit! EXCUSED LATE WORK: with excused absences, students have one week to make up a assignment/ lab. After one week, 10% is docked each day. If a test is rescheduled and you do not arrive for the test, a 10% deduction will occur for each time the test is missed and rescheduled. A “0” in the gradebook for a missing assignment will be changed WHEN it is submitted.

CLASSROOM NORMS FOR TECHNOLOGY

Students will await further instructions given by the teacher. Students will listen for teacher’s cue to close screen of iPad when whole-group attention is needed. Students will save/turn in work as needed and completely put away iPads when directed to do so. Students will visit only the websites listed in the activity, Schoology, or stated by the teacher. Any accidental deviation to an unauthorized website should be reported to the teacher immediately. Students will not eat or drink in the classroom when iPads are being utilized. PHONES WILL BE SILENT AND PUT AWAY UNLESS GIVEN PERMISSION.

Students enrolled in Parent/ Child Development are expected to be prepared for class with their iPad, textbook, writing utensil, and paper.  They should take notes and complete homework in a timely manner.  I also expect students to ask questions and seek help when appropriate.  In addition, students are expected to attain passing test scores.

We look forward to problem solving and exploring Parent/ Child Development with you this year. Through exploratory lessons, group work and open-ended questions we will dive deep into the world of Education and Parenting, specifically Child Care and be able to grow as scholars and problem solvers.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Lienhop
