Independent Candidate for Wales

My Platform

Good Day. I have served as an MP for Wales since October last year, and am seeking re-election as an independent candidate. Since I’ve been involved in the model world, I’ve been advocating devolution in Wales. I will continue to do just that. At every step of the way I will, I have, and I can fight for devolution, fight for the protection and prosperity of the Welsh culture, the language, and the people. My voting record on devolution is 100% in favour, and I have consistently voted in line with Welsh public opinion since my election. I am a candidate Wales can trust.

Socially, I promote a liberal moderation. Social progress and change can and will happen, but the challenge is doing it with stability and inclusivity. I would phase in progressive legislation in certain areas, whilst keeping tradition and culture alive in others, to promote a society that is as proud of it’s people’s past as its future. I can promise that I will fight for Wales. Wales needs to stop being ignored by westminster, stop being denied the devolution it has clearly show it desires, and have a populace that can feel genuinely proud to be part of the Welsh culture.

Wales Deserves Better.

Social Policy

As I said earlier in the manifesto, I promote social moderation. We need to an accepting society that stands up for it’s culture, but one that doesn’t exclude people from it needlessly. Society changes over time, there’s no hiding from that, and no use in trying to stop it. The challenge is in accommodating for it. I believe that moderation is the key to this, combining change with stability. Here are my key social policies;

  • I will oppose any type of censorship or restriction on freedom of speech.
  • Support for legalising, taxing and regulating prostitution, protecting the people involved wherever possible.
  • Support for providing free classes in advanced English and basic Welsh for immigrants, and making citizenship tests include the necessity of a basic knowledge of the English language.
  • Opposition to university tuition fees rising above £3k.
  • Support for heightening child benefit, the availability of free childcare provision, and free parenting classes.
  • Support for same sex marriage, provided each church is allowed to choose whether or not to perform the ceremony.
  • Support for an approach to crime that prioritises personal responsibility, but being tough on the causes. This is in line with giving the currently incarcerated more connections to the outside world, and whilst in prison offer minimum wage work for criminals, to give a monetary base upon release to lower reoffending rates and poverty.
  • Opposition to selective education, but promotion of turning failing schools into academies.
  • Promotion of a multicultural Wales, with an open and inclusive approach to immigration.
  • Support for providing free school meals with high nutritional values to all children in compulsory education.
  • Strong advocacy for the Welsh language.

The Welsh Economy

The major parties have not provided a plan for the Welsh economy, in policy or any other field. I attempted to find out what this government planned to do for the Welsh economy, a sizable part of the market, at several question sessions. I’m standing on very broadly social democratic principles economically. The key economic policies I would push for if elected are as follows;

  • I would support the creation of an industrial relations board, consisting of business and union leaders, to help decide appropriate regulations for enterprise and unions.
  • Support for full fiscal autonomy for a devolved Welsh legislature, decentralising power.
  • Support for measures to provide tax relief for self-employed workers undertaking training.
  • Opposition any further raises in income tax in lower tax bracket.
  • Support for providing guaranteed jobs for the long term unemployed.
  • Support for the creation of a business bank to assist small businesses in Wales, and I oppose any raises in taxes for small and medium sized enterprises across Wales.
  • Support for investment in rural telecoms services, and guarantees of internet speeds across Wales, in order to support rural business and stop the consumer losing out to large telecoms corporations.
  • Support for an increase in start up businesses, and believe this should be promoted by offering grants to budding entrepreneurs with plans seen as worthwhile by a council of businessmen and women across Wales.
  • Support for mass investment in green energy and industry.

Conclusion; Wales Deserves Better.

Wales Deserves Better is my campaign slogan for a reason. I strongly believe that my re-election as your MP for Wales will go a long way towards waking up the main parties and their treatment of Wales, and standing up for the culture, the language, and the way of living of the people of Wales. It is a vote that shows the distinction from the English, Scots, Northern Irish, and those from any other part of the British union. It is a vote towards a candidate that wants, and has a plan, to make Wales’ place in the world stronger, more prosperous and beneficial to the standard of living from Anglesey to Cardiff. I have worked harder for Wales and it’s people than any other candidate in the model world, and will continue to do so if your faith in me is renewed with a simple vote.

A vote for me is a vote that goes towards a Wales that is both modern, and proud of its culture, that has powers both in Cardiff and at every level of local government. It is vote for a has a clear, stable, economic plan. It is a vote for rural Wales and urban Wales, a vote for those who are proud of their nation, a vote for those across all social and economic classes, and a vote for the people, families, communities and regions of Wales. I hope I can earn your vote at the ballot this general election, thank you for reading.
