Social Impact, Innovation,

and Investment (SI3) Specialization

Wait, can you define these terms?

7 of 86

The Social Impact, Innovation, and Investment (SI3) specialization provides students with the training to practice across sectors (private, nonprofit, and public) as agents of social change. By learning the language and tools of both business and policy, you will be able to innovate products, services, delivery systems, enterprises, and investment approaches necessary to improve lives and solve major domestic and global challenges.

  • NYU Wagner

8 of 86

You will also be uniquely qualified to assess and measure the social impact that arises from these innovative approaches. Students in the specialization are provided a foundation with required courses traversing ideation, entrepreneurship, and social finance.

  • NYU Wagner

9 of 86

We envision a world where all public, private, and social (nonprofit) sector entities see it as their responsibility to create positive change in the world, and the measured impact of their behavior guides decision making.

Social Innovation

Social enterprises are revenue-generating businesses with a mission. Whether it’s providing clean water, expanding health care services, strengthening renewable energy options or helping individuals entering the workforce, social enterprises use their profits and business practices to address a societal need.
