Kit list

  • Sense should prevail when packing!!
  • If at all possible, avoid packing jeans. If they get wet, they can be extremely uncomfortable.
  • Shoes – a pair of old trainers are essential. They WILL get wet so an additional pair of outdoor shoes is also needed.
  • The Centre will provide waterproof tops and trousers for water based activities. However, you MUST send your child with a waterproof coat (and trousers) of their own.
  • Insect repellent
  • Sun cream (we’re feeling optimistic!)

Does your child know what’s in their bag?

Kit list

  • Please ensure every item is labelled with your child’s name.
  • Please reinforce to your child the importance of looking after their belongings. Looking after their belongings is their responsibility – they should only put their things down in a safe place and need to remember where!

Does your child know what’s in their bag?

Accommodation

We will allocate the children to their accommodation using our judgement. We will try our best to put the children together in friendship groups and avoid any personality clashes etc, but we cannot guarantee that every child will end up sharing with everyone they might want to.

Apart from those in the tented village, we will not tell the children who they are sharing with until they arrive at Hawkhirst. Those in the tented village will be told straight after the Easter holidays.
