STEP 1: Choose a sheet of scrapbook paper. On the blank side, use a ruler to draw a line down the center of the page.

STEP 2: Open your junk journal to the middle. Line up the spine of the journal with the line on the scrapbook paper. Stitch the endsheet and journal together.

STEP 3: Trim the endsheet all the way around ¼” from the edge of the journal pages.

STEP 4: On the blank side of a sheet of cardstock, use a ruler to draw a line down the center. Then draw a line ¼” on either side of the center line. From each of those lines, draw a line ½” farther out.

STEP 5: Fold the journal, blank sides together, along each of the lines ¼” from the center.

STEP 6: Now fold the cover the other direction along the ½” lines.

STEP 7: Cut a piece of ribbon about two inches longer than the height of the journal.

STEP 8: Using rubber cement, glue the ribbon along the spine of the journal. Trim the excess ribbon from either end.

STEP 9: Using hot glue, apply glue between the two ½” lines/folds.

STEP 10: Center the spine of the journal along the center line of the cover, fold it up and press it to ensure it sticks together.

STEP 11: Cut two 4”X12” strips of scrapbook paper.

STEP 12: Fold the cover back along the ½” line/fold and press it flat.

STEP 13: Using rubber cement, glue the 4” strip to the cover and endsheet, centering it over the fold.

STEP 14: Trim the cover to the size of the endsheet all the way around.
