Using AI Effectively and Appropriately

Explain at least three principles for using AI effectively as a student or as a teacher.

    • Does not contradict educational intent.
    • Permits something currently done to be easier, faster, cheaper.
    • Permits something that need to be done, to be better, even if it is more costly, slower, more expensive.
    • Permits something to be done that would not otherwise be possible to do.

    • Lesson Plan Ideas
    • Rubric Ideas
    • Generate Simple Quiz Questions
    • Grade Certain Types of Assignments
    • Create a fictional response from a well known historical figure about a current event for students to reflect on, critique or respond to
    • Generate discussion prompts
    • Create Differentiated Learning Materials (Explain X as a 18 year old)

Questions and Things To Consider

  • Do your students understand and accept that education is not about the diploma? Rather it is about the change that will occur in them as a result of their engagement in the experience?
  • You may have to reconsider how you structure assignments and how you assess students.
