Clouds are a visible collection of tiny water droplets or ice crystals.
They are classified by shape and altitude, and they help us forecast the weather.
Cirrus clouds- High altitude/ice Structure- wispy
Bring FAIR weather and can indicate a change in weather
Cumulus- Middle altitude Structure- fluffy, piles
Bring FAIR weather, but can grow into thunderclouds
Stratus- low altitude Structure-layered/blanket like
Can bring light rain or snow
Nimbus-prefix/suffix Structure-dark, layered clouds
They bring rain.
Cumulonimbus Structure: Anvil:
-Towering, dark clouds
-Bring thunderstorms
Alto- prefix: middle altitudes
Altostratus clouds
Altocumulus clouds
