Background & How We Made This Work
Researching the problem
“Throughout the long school year, there will be times when the parent and the teacher are not always on the same page”- second line education blog
“In our busy day of juggling papers, lesson planning and managing sometimes more than a hundred students, we can easily forget the group that could lend significant support in our charge as teachers -- parents and families”-edutopia
“Good two-way communication between families and schools is necessary for your students' success. Not surprisingly, research shows that the more parents and teachers share relevant information with each other about a student, the better equipped both will be to help that student achieve academically.”- Reading Rocket
“Simply put, parents are the best teachers and role models that a child has. As such, it’s vital that parents are actively involved with their child’s education, rather than allowing the teacher to handle it all. There’s plenty of evidence that suggests positive communications between parents and teachers leads to a positive impact on the academic performance of a child”-The compass school
Our School Interview
Student - "I never remember to bring money to school when we have fundraiser sales. If I remembered what day things were I could buy stuff.”
Teacher - “I would really like to know what is going on in my students other classes. If I did I wouldn’t give tests on the same day and give my students a break ”
Parent - “Since my child started Middle School I can’t keep up with all of the different events. How can I help keep them organized?”
