Background & How We Made This Work

During our interviews we identified communication as an important priority for our school. We wanted to set up an app that connects everyone in the school and makes it easier to communicate.
SISCL Connects will help teachers, parents and students connect. It will provide calendars, reminders and private chat opportunities for everyone in the school.

Our School Interview

Student - "I never remember to bring money to school when we have fundraiser sales. If I remembered what day things were I could buy stuff.”

Teacher - “I would really like to know what is going on in my students other classes. If I did I wouldn’t give tests on the same day and give my students a break ”

Parent - “Since my child started Middle School I can’t keep up with all of the different events. How can I help keep them organized?”

Our App

Our app, SISCL Connects, helps all members of the school community share information.
It also helps to keep track of all the different events that go on in our school.

How the App Works

When the app is opened it asks the user to login and if don’t have a account you can sign up. Then it takes you to a screen were you can choose where to go from school reminder , event calendar , or P/T communication .

Our Design Progress

When the app opens, the first screen is a login screen.
The user logs in with a username and password.
The school calendar is shown first.
You then select your homeroom and everything you need for that class appears.
Your class, private messages with teachers, reminders, and event calendars are all available.

Private chatting with teachers could be useful for students, as well as parents. Any concerns about the class can be addressed here in a safe, private way.
Reminders may include upcoming events, like trips, important classroom activities or any other important priorities in school.

Feedback
