The problem

Our Inspiration

  • The difficulty of getting around through public transportation or walking in a densely populated city.
  • We experience this problem personally as none of us can drive and have to take public transportation.
  • I interviewed students at TAEHS. This issue affects them because they take public transportation to and from school, especially since they live far.

  • Our app addresses the ongoing issue of traveling through public transportation in a big city by giving you various options to get to your destination. You can see how far trains and buses are, and you can even see how long it would take you to walk there. ChooChoo tracks your walking speed after every use to develop the most accurate information for you.

ChooChoo provides a cleaner, faster, and more user-friendly experience compared to similar apps, especially for those who are new to public transit.

How It Helps the Area of Need:�As cities grow and more people rely on public transportation, there's a greater need for apps that are easy to use and guide users safely and efficiently. ChooChoo directly supports this need by simplifying route planning, reducing travel anxiety, and encouraging the use of sustainable transportation. It’s especially helpful for students, tourists, and daily commuters who may struggle with current, more complicated apps.

Next Steps (If We Had More Time or Resources):�If we had more time and resources, we would add real-time tracking for buses and trains, accessibility features for people with disabilities, and a voice-navigation option for hands-free use.
